A Review of Delilah by Angela Hunt

Hunt did a good job of depicting the biblical story of Samson and Delilah. She gave readers a fresh new perspective and a possible reason of why Delilah made the choices she made. What I liked about the story is that Hunt writes about Delilah's life and what made her become the woman she is and what led her to make the choices she made. Hunt made both Samson and Delilah like any average human and we all make mistakes and don't always think wisely. Overall, I really liked the book. I liked Delilah as a character, probably more than Samson. For me, the story started out really interesting, but in the middle there were a few parts that were a bit slow. I also thought that it would be more of a love story, but I could tell that the main focus of the book was the biblical story of Samson and Delilah, not the love story between them. Romance was a smaller theme in the book, but considering what the book was about it worked fine as a smaller theme. The book left you thinking about love, making the right choices in life, and forgiveness. Overall, I would give this book 4 stars and I would recommend it.

I received this book for free from Bethany House Publishers for my honest review.
