A Review of Wings of the Wind by Connilyn Cossette

This was the third novel in the "Out From Egypt" series. I loved the first two books and I was excited to read this one and hesitant as well because it takes place 40 years after the second book. I wanted to read more about Shira and Kiya and I wasn't sure how I would feel about new characters. The book took a few chapters to grow on me. I was excited to read Shira's name and I'm glad we got to read about some of our favorite characters from the series. Alanah was a great character. I loved reading her journey and watching her develop as a character. Moriyah was another great character that as a reader you come to care about. The journey the characters went on was unexpected, exciting, and emotional. As a reader I didn't want to put the book down because I wanted to know what would happen next. I had an idea of how it would end, but the journey to that point was unexpected and I love being surprised as a reader. This was a great ending to a wonderful series. I didn't want the book to end. I highly recommend not only this novel, but the entire series and I look forward to reading more from Connilyn Cossette.

A Review of Shadow of the Storm by Connilyn Cossette

I loved the first book in this series, Counted with the Stars. I couldn't wait to read this book. I was a little disappointed that this book was about Shira, not about Kiya. I loved Kiya's character in the first book and I wanted to read more of her story. I still enjoyed reading about Shira. This book didn't catch my interest the same way Counted with the Stars did, but I still loved it. The story was very interesting and unique and I loved the plot twists throughout the book. It was nice to see a different side to Shira and to read her story. I am glad that we also got to read about some of our favorite characters from the first book. The story is so immersive and Connilyn writes with so much detail you get transported to the story. The story line between Dvorah, Ayal, and Kiya reminded me of a soap opera and it was filled with drama and twists and turns. I wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen next. It was a great sequel to Counted with the Stars. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series and I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys historical fiction or historical biblical fiction.
