A Review of Lady of Milkweed Manor by Julie Klassen

This book is a gem. It's not the normal happy romance novel. This book is deep and powerful and it will move you. I could feel Charlotte's pain with the decisions that she had to make. It was heartbreaking and yet beautiful at the same time. This story isn't just about love between a man and a woman, but it is also the love story between a mom and her child. Charlotte made some choices that sent her on a difficult path in life. As humans we all make the wrong choice sometimes and things will get difficult, but we must keep living and try to make things better for ourselves. This story will touch your heart in many ways. As sad as the story was, it also had happy moments and made me smile. It was well written and a beautiful story that I had a hard time putting down. You will love Charlotte as well as some of the other characters. I would easily recommend this book.

A Review of The Secret of Pembrooke Park by Julie Klassen

Julie Klassen proved to me again why she is one of my favorite authors. Her stories are so mysterious and captivating and you can't help but love the characters. From the very beginning I was so curious about the secret of Pembrooke Park. As a reader you are just as curious as Abigail and you think about every person she encounters and what role they have in the secret. It was easy to get lost in the story and you wanted to keep reading to find out what happens next. I appreciate that there are many layers to the story and it isn't one dimensional or very predictable. There were many surprises towards the end of the novel and little twists that I did not see coming. This is a storyline that I have never read before.  I also love the time period that the book was written in. It was a great read and I would definitely recommend The Secret of Pembrooke Park.

I received this book for free from Bethany House Publishers for my honest review.
