A Review of Judah's Wife by Angela Hunt

I was looking forward to this book as I have read other books by Angela Hunt and I enjoy Biblical Fiction. The book caught my attention right away and I wanted to keep reading it to find out what happened next. The book was action packed. The story was focused more around Judah and the Maccabees than the relationship between Leah and Judah. My only complaint is that towards the end all the battles started to blur together and there was a point where I was a bit bored. Overall though it was a great book.  I did not know that it was the second book in a series. It is a great stand alone novel. However, after reading this book I did read the first book in the series and I'm looking forward to the third book.

A Review of A Chance At Forever by Melissa Jagears

I didn’t realize when I got the book that it was a part of a series. Reading this book as a stand-alone novel was very confusing. There are so many characters from the previous books and I could not keep them straight. It wasn’t until nearly the end of the book that I started to piece together who was who. Therefore, I didn’t start enjoying the book until the end. The story itself was good and the ending was sweet. I would only recommend this book if you read the others in the series. Based on this book I would want to read the rest of the series. I’ve read other books by the author and although this one is not one of the best I still enjoyed it. I would recommend starting with book one in the series otherwise you may not enjoy this one as much.

A Review of The Sound of Rain by Sarah Loudin Thomas

This book was a disappointment. The summary and title paint a different picture than the story itself. I thought the story would revolve around a hurricane as it's mentioned in the back and the book is called "The Sound of Rain." However, the hurricane occurred in the beginning and then the story went in a different direction. I also wasn't a fan of the lead character Larkin. Both Larkin and Judd were a bit annoying and seemed much younger than their age. Unfortunately, I found the writing dull and and the story was slow to follow. It was one of those books I had to make myself read. Towards the end it picked up a little bit, but I never got very interested in the book and it's very forgettable for me. I wasn't drawn to the characters or the plot. This isn't a book that I would recommend as it did not catch my interest.
